About Somerville, TN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Somerville is a Fayette County, Tennessee town with a population of roughly 3,100 people. This town is the county seat, and it is found within the Memphis metro area. Somerville is located approximately 45 miles east of Memphis and 175 miles southwest of Nashville. Incorporated in 1836, Somerville is named after Lieutenant Robert Somerville, who was killed during battle in the Battle of Horseshoe Bend in 1814. The town consists of 11.4 square miles of total area, almost all of which is made up of land, and its elevation is 397 feet.
Despite the modest size of Somerville, there are different things to see and do here. If you are in need of a gift for the special lady in your life, David Kelley Jewelers or Powers & Son Jewelers are popular stores to visit. Other interesting stores include Hometowne Flowers & Gifts and the City Pawn Shop. Residents and visitors who are in need of a day of pampering may prefer a trip to The Hair Gallerie or LV Nails, and the Somerville Fayette County Library is a great destination for all residents.
Each year, the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Cotton Festival in Historic Somerville Square. The day begins with a 5K run, and over 100 vendors are on hand to offer food, arts and crafts, and town information. A car show and an area for kids are also available, making the event fun for the entire family.

The weather patterns in southwestern Tennessee, including Somerville, feature four distinctive seasons. This includes hot and humid summer weather that comes from Texas and the Gulf of Mexico. Daily temperatures in July average in the mid to upper 80s and have high levels of humidity. Without air conditioning, summers in Somerville could become quite uncomfortable. Winters then become chilly and mild, and since daily average temperatures in January only reach the low 40s, residents will need to fire up their furnace or heat pump to stay warm.
