About Lakeland, TN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

With a population of approximately 12,400 residents, Lakeland is a Memphis suburb located in Shelby County. The community saw a population increase of over 81% from 2000, at which time there were only 6,800 residents living there. This city is located approximately 30 miles from the Memphis city center and 190 miles southwest of Nashville. It was previously home to the defunct Lakeland Amusement Park, which has two railroads situated within the property. Previously part of the Shelby County School District, this community will form its own Lakeland School System beginning in 2014. Assigned schools included Lakeland Elementary, Arlington Middle, and Arlington High.
Despite the modest size of Lakeland, there are a few attractions here that might appeal to area visitors and residents. International Harvester Park is one of the area’s most popular parks, and it includes a fishing lake, picnic facilities, and a series of hiking trails. An outdoor paintball park is also located in Lakeland, and it offers playing fields that contain bunkers, trenches, and villages across 20 acres. Golf fans often enjoy visiting Stonebridge, which features a course, driving range, and pro shop, and the area’s Club Windward is a popular reception facility for weddings and other events.

Residents who call Lakeland home will experience several different weather conditions throughout the year, which is typical within a humid subtropical climate zone. Winters are often cool to cold, and average temperatures fall into the low 40s. While southern Tennessee does see several inches of snow each winter, ice storms and freezing rain are a greater concern. These severe weather conditions can lead to hazardous driving, so residents will need to have a reliable and efficient heating system so that they can stay warm in the event that the weather leaves them homebound.  Severe weather in the summer is also possible, this time in the form of thunderstorms and tornadoes, so it is important to have an effective air conditioning system in place to keep the humid and hot air at bay.
