About Hickory-Withe, TN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Hickory Withe is an unincorporated Fayette County, Tennessee community, and it serves as a small Memphis suburb. Since it did serve as an incorporated town for a number of years, it was treated as incorporated in 2000 and had a population of approximately 2,600. The community was first settled in 1834 by families who relocated from Prosperity, South Carolina. One of the first things that the settlers did upon their arrival was to form the Prosperity Presbyterian Church. In 1907, the church merged with another congregation to form the Hickory Withe Presbyterian Church, and this facility remains active to this day.

As a small, unincorporated community, Hickory Withe is not home to many prominent attractions. A visitor or resident’s best bet in terms of things to do would be a visit to Ivy Park on Shady Oaks Drive. Fortunately, there are numerous sites of interest in the immediate vicinity. For example, golf fans may enjoy a trip to Colonial Country Club in Cordova or Fair Oaks Golf Club in Oakland.  If you are hosting a wedding or other special event, popular venues include Heartwood Hall in Rossville, Savannah Woods Plantation in Collierville, and Carhills II The Manor in Gallaway.

The climate in southern Tennessee, including Hickory Withe, features four distinctive seasons with different weather patterns. This includes hot, sticky, and humid summer weather that moves north from Texas and the Gulf of Mexico. Temperature readings on an average July day are typically in the mid to upper 80s and have excessive humidity levels. Without air conditioning, summers in Hickory Withe could become uncomfortable and even dangerous, especially for children, the elderly, and people with certain medical conditions. Winters can also become chilly, and since daily temperatures in January only reach the low 40s on average, residents will want to fire up their heating system in order to stay warm.
